The area

The Erzsébetváros (7th district), where the apartment is located is the most charming and active part of Budapest's downtown, it has the famous Jewish District with all the restaurants and ruin pubs and small streets and cafes, its still very centraly located so you can reach all the other sights on foot. It is amazing to stroll on the beautiful streets or just have a coffee at a small corner coffee shop, every corner of the district offers you a new surprise and you can easily walk to the Danube or to the City Park as well from the apartment.
Oktogon is the place, where Erzsébetváros and Terézváros are meeting, these are two very active and characteristic districts of Budapest meet, Oktogon is also one of the main meeting points in the city.
Liszt Ferenc Tér, Gozsdu Udvar and the Jewish District with many good bars, restaurants and cafes is around the corner from the the King's Court Apartment, to walk to Andrássy út the main boulevard of Budapest takes about 3 minutes.
Sights next to the King's Court Apartment: House of Opera, House of Terror, New York Palace + any of the other sights of the city within 15 minutes walk.
The closest bathhouses: Széchenyi Baths and Lukács Baths, both accessible within 10 minutes.
In the building downstairs: 24 hours supermarket, coffee shop, local restaurants, pharmacy, exchange office.

Getting around

The apartment has very good public transportation connection, as it is located next to the very central OKTOGON M1 metro station, from where you can access the metro to and from the airport and main railway stations of the city. There is the trem 4/6 stopping right at Király utca, which is the closest station.
Deák Ferenc tér with M1/M2/M3 metro lines is about a 5 minute walk away.
There is 24H bus connection next to the apartment too.

Check in check out

It is important to know that you can arrive anytime, it is not a problem if you arrive with a flight or train even at 23.55, check in is from noon and on the day you leave you have to pack your luggage until 11.00, but you can keep your luggage at a safe place during the day in case you leave only later from Budapest.
We can pick you up by car at the airport for a fee of 33EUR.
You can use internet in the apartment free of charge of course and of course the use of laundry is free too. My brother can rent bikes for you too, it costs about 7EUR/day and they bring them to the apartment and you can give it back to them also at the flat when you wish.

Rules

The most important rule is to not to disturb the others living in the building and we take this serious, our apartments are located in buildings where the locals from Budapest are living, old people, babies sick and healthy, so the travelers who come and stay in our apartment should respect the building, the people and the most important part of it is not to be loud in the common areas and in the apartment after 8PM, of course you can stay out in the city as long as you wish, just please be very quite returning home and do not party in the apartment, this is the most important thing to share.

Reviews

The location was awesome! 2 mins away from the all-important 4&6 trams, 5 mins away from the Oktogon stop & 1 min away from a bus to Parlament. Zoltan, right in front, has super yummy gyros. While a pastry place, a convenience store, a 24hr stop are all downstairs. Even a milliner if you are so inclined.

Pia

As my second stay in Budapest, this is the icing on the cake! My brother and I had 10 days in central Europe, and now I regret not staying past 3 days in Budapest. Marton and Peter provided an unmatched welcome into the city! They sat down for an hour getting to know what we liked and answering questions on how to truly enjoy our visit. Having traveled quite extensively in my day, I've never had a local or concierge reveal all the 'secret goods' about a city. Usually you're pointed to touristy restaurants and expat bars. Without fail, we tried almost every restaurant and night scene they recommended, and all were astonishing. Maybe Hungarian cuisine is just that phenomenal, but we were always walking around with happy stomachs. Read up on ruin pubs and you'll get the local flavor of nightlife, too! The apartment itself couldn't be more central, too. Steps away from Andrassy Utca (near the opera house / House of Terror), we barely found the need to take public transport. Comfortable rooms (the heat was a saving grace on a few cold nights), quick internet, well-stocked kitchen, clothes washer - better accommodations than any hotel, and at the right price. We felt right at home when we needed a breather to relax. Thanks for inviting us into your home and culture. Definitely a must for visiting one of the most incredible cities in Europe!
